NSO positions
« on: Jun 27, 2011, 01:30 »
Hello everyone,
When applying for an NSO position is age a contributing factor?  I Retired from the federal government at age 50 a couple months ago.  I have TS/SCI/ with Polygraph.. I served in the Marines 5 years, Marine Security Guard, Honorable Discharge.   With the Federal Government I've served many years overseas, security training, weapons, high threat training etc..   I've obtained my Department of Criminal Justice security guard credentials from Virginia.  Absolutely clean record...  despite all this, I was declined when applying for NSO position at North Anna..    I don't know why I was not considered..  unless it was my age?  Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Dave.

I doubt your age was a factor.  More likely, you were deemed overqualified for an entry level position.
