Apartments for Prototype
« on: Nov 02, 2011, 10:33 »
I've seen people looking for apartments for prototype, but I'm not clear on the parameters that qualify you to live in an apartment. Do you have to be married or an officer or in Ballston Spa? Does everybody have to get an apartment when they start prototype? Do you get a choice?

Everyone (single or married)  has to live on the town for prototype, whether you stay in charleston or go to NY.  You will get a housing allowance.

Word to the wise. If anyone here is planning on going to new york, be sure to look up apartments a month or so BEFORE you head up there. Me and a few other got caught with our pants down, and had to rent a million dollar house in the historic district simply because NOTHING else was available.

Saratoga has had military housing for quite awhile now:

This may help for the married folks.

No, I'm not in boot camp yet, but this instance of planning too far ahead isn't my fault; my mother wanted to know when I would be able to get an apartment, presumably because she wants to unload all my stuff. :P

Students dont get "military housing". Students get a choice of these 40 or so homes they can get from a defense contractor.  Even the married ones (ask me how I know!). May be applicable to the married with kids though.

AND CLEAN!!!

Not the "Your car is clean and your room is clean." That's more organized then clean. He means "You smell like an abused dumpster outside of an hourly rate motel" type of clean. Stay away from those.
