Has anyone applied to and heard back from Duke Energy for RO jobs starting early 2013?

Yes, heard back definitively last week. I had already passed the POSS, so they were able to look up my scores and I'm flying down to interview early next week.

Interviewed on Thursday.  Also thought it went well.  How many openings at McGuire?  Wonder how many interviews were taking place?  I was told offers would go out by the first or second week of December.

Interviewed on the 6th for a NEO position... thought it went great. I was the 4th person to interview at Oconee, I believe he said he had about 40 people to interview.

I believe they told me 15 openings at Mcguire.  Not sure how many people they are interviewing.  I also was told, that I should hear something by the first or second week of December.

Does any one know what the process is at Duke?  Does the offer come by phone, email, or letter in mail.  I'm assuming if you are not chosen it could be a while before you hear anything.

I was wondering that also.  Hopefully we'll hear something by this week or next.

Looks like reading comprehension might be an issue here.....

Sort of off topic, but on the topic of Duke.

I recently applied for an engineering position at Duke doing fuel design. The job posting closed last Monday, January 7th so I'm now waiting for (hopefully) an invitation to further screening. Does anybody here have experience working in engineering at Duke? Good work environment?

From the job description it seems like an interesting job and is exactly what I have wanted to get into since I started my nuclear education.

GC, I stumbled on this forum in hopes of getting the same insight regarding Duke. I've applied to both Nuclear Fuels Design and Safety Analysis positions, and they're flying me down January 18th for interviews.

I have worked in the Engineering group at Duke, both at a plant and at the General Office in Charlotte.  The Fuel's group is located in Charlotte.  They do all of the core design work (at least for the old Duke plants, though I would assume they will begin working on core designs for the Progress plants too).  The work environment is pretty good in my opinion.  You will probably have a choice to work either four 10's or five 8's.  The hours are farily flexible in that some people get there very early to beat traffic, and others arrive at a normal time.  You'll likely have a cube on the 8th floor, a computer, phone, etc.  There is a canteen in the building that serves breakfast and lunch, plus all of the other places nearby.  The people are all very nice and helpful.

Let me know if you have any specific questions.
Good luck.

Edit:  There is a large parking deck across the street so parking isn't too bad.
