L Clearance Questions
« on: Nov 03, 2012, 03:38 »
I applied for a job that needed a DOE L clearance. I have been waiting for 5 months now. I tried contacting my investigator and my company about the status. But they have NO information and they say there's NO way to find out my status.  >:(

Meantime I accepted a job in a small company. Figure I'll quit the small company after getting approved. I know this sounds messed up, but I really need a job and I can't just wait for my clearance. (worst case scenario is my clearance is stuck somewhere in adjudication or they misplaced my file)

So my questions are:

Is there anyone that I could contact about my clearance status? (apparently my company doesn't even know what a FSO is... so they aren't too helpful in pointing me to the right direction)

Do I need to report to the investigator that I accepted a job in the meantime?

Thanks!

impatiently waiting...

look through the posts below and try PM'ing some of the users with similar scenarios to yours as you did not include pertinent details such as where you are getting cleared to work, etc.,

you don't need to elaborate anymore as somebody who has posted before is most likely a close match to your situation, just read through the posts and you can also try typing "clearance" into the search window on the forum home page,...

JUST GOT MY CLEARANCE!!! (About five months)

But now the company is telling me that they are having a budgetting issue... WTF!!! Waited so long just to hear that they aren't able afford me... ARG!!!

Does anyone here know if it is easy or fast to transfer a DOE clearance to a DOD clearance? From my research... it seems I need to redo the clearance process again!
