I am thinking about running a background check on myself just to see what comes up.  Anybody have any experience with running a check prior to one being run by the licensee?

There seem to be a ton of companies out there that do checks, but how to choose one that will appropriately represent what will show up (if anything) by the employer.

Any experience with Exelon, and who they might use?

Thanks all.

The key things they are looking for are felonies, DUIs or a long list of misdemeanors. If you do not have any of those, I don't think you should waste you time and money on a background check on yourself.

DUI 14 years ago.  Fought it in court for about 6 years.  Finally gave up, couldn't keep paying for Lawyer(s) even though I thought I had a good case.

I think I got a dis-orderly conduct outside a bar like 6-7 years ago.

I wouldn't do it personally. I can't tell you how many people have given me their background check they ran that left out numerous charges or information. I'm sure there are many that are correct. The nukes primarily use govt. databases for their checks (FBI) among other things.

You can go to most of your local police depts/counties and get a list of your charges if you know where you were arrested.

I would hope you don't have so much that you can't remember them all :)

Just kidding but anyways good luck.
