Email address used on resumes.
« on: Jan 27, 2013, 04:26 »
I'm starting this topic to address specifically the email address one uses on a resume.

Example of an email address not to use on a resume;
  bigdaddylover@yahoo.com

Example of an email address to use on a resume;
  jpsmith@gmail.com

I post this because if you use the same email address that you use to login to porn websites, you're resume is likely going to be tossed.

My advice is to make on that involves your initials and last name, or something like that, that is professional and not tied to any questionable activities on the internet.

If you're not sure, google your email address and see what comes up.

ya know, sometimes it just never occurs to me to try some things,...

I have had the same e-mail address since the days of pre-aol compuserve,...

the screen name just comes up with a couple of WoW hits and then it all gets .ru, kanji and calligraphy,...

and the full e-mail address goes to a couple of USN ustafish blogs and then dies out with less than one page,...

nice hint though,... thanks for the bump,... 8)

been there, dun that,... the doormat to hell does not read "welcome", the doormat to hell reads "it's just business"

 This was prompted by the many resumes I've looked at over the years, and what some of the more...  creative...  email addresses come up with.  8)
