George Matthews

George Matthews passed away last night after a long battle with cancer. He had his last Nuke job as a house tech at Wolf Creek, previously he had "rent-a-teched" many places.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. George was a big help at the plant when I worked at Wolf Creek.

I worked with Geoge in Ga & @ Calloway. He even spent time working on his motorcycle at my place....& his crazy dog stealing beer & hiding tools....
He will be missed. My thoughts & prayers to his family & friends...

I worked with George the first time at Byron in 1985 and the last time at Wolf Creek in 2008.  He was always unique and will be missed.

Haven't seen George in a long, long time. Always a fun guy and will miss him. Does anybody have any info on wakes or funeral home or such to send flowers, donations etc? If you don't want to post here please send me a PM with the info, I would be most apprecitive.

George was a very close friend of mine. He took me under his wing back in 1997 and taught me how to be a really good RP Tech. Then in 2007, I had the pleasure of being a ouse tech with him at Wolf Creek. My mother and my ex-wife used to babysit his youngest daughter. I spoke to him about a week before he passed. I was planning a trip to go see him, but I never got the chance. George was a mentor and a really good friend. He was the closest thing to an older brother I've ever had. My heart is broken, but I know he isnt suffering anymore.

Well, Dang!  Worked with George at Perry during the start-up and warranty run.  A great guy to have on shift as he would work hard and keep things light.  I remember him passing me (I was doing 90 ) on a state highway going south one evening.  Passed me like I was standing still. RIP George.
