In-Processing
« on: Apr 12, 2013, 11:35 »
I was recently hired to start in June, and have some questions about in-processing and the PHQ forms.  I tried a pot brownie once; should I answer yes to the drug question on the PHQ form or just say I've never possessed any illegal drugs?  Also, does anyone know what types of questions they will ask previous employers? Thanks.

Well if you answer yes you will be introduced to more paperwork and hurdles to go through and possibly be denied based on how recent it was. If you answer no, and they find out then you will be denied. So I'm not really going to give you a clear answer as I think some common sense will prevail. As for your former employers they will simply verify dates you worked, drug alcohol questions (so if you failed a drug test for that brownie it would be safe to say list it), reason for leaving, if you are eligible for rehire and ask any other negative info they may have.

good luck

Do you know if a hair follicle test is typical or usually just a urine test?

Yeah...if you are worried about passing a hair follicle test I would say maybe nuclear isn't your best option.

Is there anyone who can give me an answer instead of stupid remarks? I'm asking if they usually do a urine test or if hair tests are common

Why does it matter?

Either you partake of illegal, illicit or unprescribed drugs or you do not,...

You either fear the drug test or you do not,...

You either fear the truth or you do not,...

Regardless of the test,...regardless of the truth,...

No one here will be part of gaming the system,...

been there, dun that,... the doormat to hell does not read "welcome", the doormat to hell reads "it's just business"

I already answered the question. If you don't know what a 5 panel test is then simply google it. Search "DOT Drug Testing" that may help.

Yes sir, now you know how we feel with the spoonfeed generation that comes for their snowflake feeding.

It's also why I posted what I did.

Yep.  No doubt.

Anyone want this poster working at their plant?!?!?!?!?!?  I sure don't.

It kind of pisses me off that I went through this whole ordeal at meps about how if I had ever gotten suspended or wrote up (in high school) I wouldn't even have a chance at going nuke, when this dude is eating pot brownies and might have a chance. Where the hell is the justice in that.

Well in-processing has long been a sore spot for the navy, commercial utilities and other industries.  Not to mention current employees.  We sometimes shake our head at how stupid folks can be,,, and sometimes we almost blow a gasket when they come here for help to beat the system instead of cleaning up their act.  Don't worry though, I mean take heart, they eventually get fired.  Remember, they ain't smart.  They're doing drugs.

Hopefully, they don't cause something like ANO http://www.simplyinfo.org/?p=10122 before they get caught.

Glad it upsets you too.

You may consider this a stupid remark BUT, if you have reason to worry about passing a drug test,  WE the people that work in the industry really do not want you in the industry.  We treasure our lives, our families lives, and the Public too much to want people that are not willing to clean up their act and be responsible adults working beside us.

That does not mean you would never be accepted.  It means clean up your act and prove yourself and people will welcome you into the industry.

Please don't be sorry.  I do the same things.  It was meant as light humor.  No offense was meant toward you.  Just the lighter side,,, that we are forbidden from using at work these days.
