Again, I have some sad news about a good friend, that was an operator or NPO at Clinton Power Station. John always had a smile on his face and love in his heart. I'm so sorry for his Family who he valued so much. God Bless. DJ







CLINTON — John Harold Francis Weaver, 57, of Clinton, IL passed away at 7:37 PM, August 11, 2013 at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur, IL. Memorial Services will be held at 6:00 PM, Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Life Builders Church of God, 833 W. Pershing Rd., Decatur, IL with Pastor Tim Lusitana officiating. There will be no visitation. The family has entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Cremation Rites. Memorials may be directed to The United Way or to The American Cancer Society.

John was born August 27, 1955 in Flushing, NY the son of Lawrence Owen and Mary Patricia (Mahr) Weaver. He graduated from Voorheesville High School in 1973. He entered the Navy in 1973 and served till 1982. He married Donna Robin Chandler on March 24, 1979. She survives.

John is survived by his wife, Donna Weaver of Clinton, IL; two brothers, Larry Weaver and Patrick Weaver both of New York ; one sister, Cathy Cohen of Connecticut; two sons, Sean Eric (Brenda) Weaver of Decatur, IL and Mark William (Amanda) Weaver of Springfield, MO; two grandchildren, Ayden Harold Weaver and Eliseva Jo-Anne Weaver. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Harold.

John spent his working career at the Clinton Power Station from May 1982 until August 2013. He was avidly involved in the community through coaching his sons’ YMCA soccer and basketball teams. He also served as a scout leader for troops in both Clinton and Farmer City. He was a member of IBW Local #51 and the American Legion Post in Farmer City, IL.
