At Exelon, your day will consist of sampling various systems first thing in the morning and analyzing said samples the rest of the day. You will be using HPLC (ion) to analyze reactor water, closed cooling water, radwaste and other various systems. Weekly we use an AA for feedwater metal concentrations. On the count room side you will be analyzing effluent air filters/samples to determine releases to the public, determining the radioactivity of samples, and sometimes counting an odd piece that will not pass a small article monitor. For the non-radiological lab you will probably be sampling and analyzing boiler water and condensate, river in/out, sewage plant, waste water treatment plant and operating hypochlorite injection systems. Good luck.
