Best Golf Course Near a Nuke Plant/Facility

Many technicians play pasture billiards.  What do you think the best golf course near a nuke plant or facility is?

My vote:  Canyon Lakes, Kennewick WA.  Been years since I hacked it up and may be under different name now.

Southwest Michigan has a good selection of courses to choose from, Lake Michigan Hills and another, Hampshire, are both qualifier courses for the Western Amature at Point-O-Woods.  Here is a handy link to Michigan golf courses and other stuff.

The Quarry has been cut down to a 9, no grass, and hard surfaces.

At Calvert Cliffs there is a place to the south called Swan Point.  A challenging and beautiful 18 holes.
There are the Habs, and the Hab nots.

Near Braidwood, Dresden and LaSalle:
Heritage Bluffs in Channahon, Illinois.  Ten minutes south of Joliet off Route 55 to Bluff Road.  Go west one mile.  :D

Just south of Cook, the best deal was a municipal course just over the In. border whose name I can't recall.  Two other great courses were Crump 'n' Fox (Mass.) and Bretwood (NH) near VY.  Something Plantation by Vogtle ranks up there with all of them.

Just played Stoney Creek this morning...just outside of Vidalia, Ga.(Plant Hatch). Southern Plantation style course and it's GOOD!
Rolling hills with lots of water and waste areas. Lost 3 balls on the 9th hole! ::)
If your in the area it's worth playing (y)

The Bluffs at River Bend are extremely nice.  Just don't try to play at noon in the middle of summer.  It's also a nice place to stay if you have the $$$.

How about Diablo Canyon.  Golf Course right outside the gate, and talk about great weather and views.  Can't beat it.

There are three courses at Bethpage, all public. For the black course people sleep in their cars to get tee times and they want you to have a handicap less than 10 to play. It's not much fun if you can't reach the fairway and take a two stroke penalty per hole.

was very nice.
Lake Mich Hills, nice course, but, it always kicked my rear.
Mint Valley out at Trojan was OK, just always soggy....
Hershey (Pa) had a nice course too, I can't remember the name...
but, I did roll a cart down a side hill once there :D
Some nice ones near Callaway also..

I think you have to consider the course across the street from the Mound Facility. Word has it that some folks were fired, because they were playing golf on their lunch hour.

If all goes well with the proposal, I'll be up there trying out the course during the closure project of the OU1 landfill, starting in March.

I don't remember what the name of the course is, but you can walk across the street from the parking lot and tee off.

Isn't there one near Vogtle, in Augusta?  I think they have a golf tournament there in the spring.  Gosh what's it called!

That's right Bro ... Augusta Nationals ... Best there is. But ... right across the street and down a little is the one we all used to call "Cabbage Patch". Me, Eddie H., Brad P., Dave R., Tony M., Diamond Jeff D., Jimmy P., Tweed C., Steve M. ... Quite a few Vogtlites I remember play a round or two with back in the late 80's.

I played a round at a course not too far from Limerick called Aronimink... ranked #80 in the country (granted, not Augusta National, but who can play there?) Donald Ross considered Aronimink his masterpiece, and I guess he should know. The club house itself is a masterpiece and the whole day was an amazing experience... I just wish my game was even close to the quality it needs to be to justify playing such a course.
