Re-badging?
« on: Aug 17, 2016, 04:13 »
Good afternoon all.  I'm currently a contractor at Plant Vogtle 3&4, and have been away from the plant since 29-July, as my wife just gave birth.  I'll return to work on 6-Sept, but was informed I'd likely have to "re-badge" due to 30+ days without going through the turnstile.

Does this mean I'll have to go through the entire background process again, or is this literally just getting a new badge?  Many thanks.

I would bet it is a 30 Day to 1 year PHQ. You will have to go back until 7/29 most likely since you had Unescorted Access. Expect a Drug Screen also.
I am not an expert but I have filled out many PHQ's.

I concur.  You will have to fill out a >30 day <365 day PHQ. (not as bad as a >365 PHQ, worse than a <30 day PHQ)
You WILL have to submit to FFD.  They will re-run credit check.  But the questions are "Since you last held access" instead of since you were 18, or 7 years ago...

It's for Cooper, but it gives you an idea what they will ask (for each kind of PHQ)

Thanks for the input guys.  So basically, I'll be waiting a couple weeks for background stuff to come in again. They are onboarding so many craft guys that anything security related takes a good while, even for those of us without the most sensitive clearances. Yikes.  Maybe I'll go back in on light duty to avoid that, and start back earning coins.  Many thanks for the replies.

I can give a little OE, though your mileage may vary.  Last year I took vacation that went over 30 days.  It took about 2 1/2 hours for them to get me back inside the protected area.

Sounds good, although it takes me about 2.5 hours to fill out the damned PHQ. LOL.

If I remember correctly the one I filled out only took about 15 minutes.  It's greatly abbreviated.
