A new study says Pacific Northwest utility ratepayers could save hundreds of millions of dollars if the Bonneville Power Administration and Energy Northwest close the region’s only commercial nuclear-power plant in Richland, Wash., and replace its output with renewable energy.

A new report from an anti-nuclear group gives some alternative spin to the same old dogma – shut down all nuclear plants and replace them with renewables. Lots of spin, but no evidence.

This particular report, from McCullough Research, again targets their imagined nemesis Columbia Generating Station, Washington State’s own public power nuclear plant that has been operating beautifully, breaking production and safety records over and over, for the last five years.

I so wish these idiots would be required to ONLY use the energy produced by wind and solar. If this was the case, I bet they would change their mind following the January and February we just went through.

Zero degrees......cloudy.....air stagnation warnings for consecutive days at a time. Zero megawatts to the grid.....hope you morons have lots of blankets  :D

Eventually I'm afraid, these "Physicians" will push me to the point of waiting for them out in the parking lot for a quick "word" with them. I'm getting very fed up with these nut jobs on the west coast, they are carelessly screwing around with my livelihood.

Why on earth would somebody who calls themselves "Environmentalists" want to shut down a power plant that produces enough clean energy (without any scenic pollution) to power all of Seattle? I know why....because they are nut job Anti-Nukes who don't really care about the environment and who strive at spreading fear to the ignorant public. Its time these Fear-mongering establishments get put in their place and publically humiliated for the lies they continue to spew without regard for their actions.
