Experts Tell Congress Nuclear Must Be Part of a Modern Electric Grid

Expert witnesses at a hearing on Capitol Hill this week said that preserving reliable baseload electricity options—including nuclear energy—must be part of the country’s modern electric infrastructure.

Maybe I'm under-educated in this area, but the Congress and the House subcommittees here can say and recommend anything, but it comes down to the individual state elected officials to ratchet up any increase nuclear power. People like Rep. Frank Pallone (D-N.J.), quoted in the article, side-steps any actual nuclear support for simply upgrading the grid infrastructure.  States like Illinois are an anomaly.
