Canada’s Bruce Power nuclear plant not only provides the province of Ontario with clean electricity, it also provides the medical community with resources needed to combat life-threatening cancers, thanks to a long-term agreement to produce radioisotopes for health science company Nordion Inc. The measure prompted the Nuclear Energy Institute to award Bruce Power with a Top Innovative Practice Award at the 2017 Nuclear Energy Assembly—the first awarded to a non-U.S. company.
