Duke-Robinson Nuclear plant
« on: Mar 06, 2018, 02:02 »
Hello, I’m a newbie to forum, so please excuse any ignorance. I plan to apply for AO position at Robinson nuclear plant in hartsville SC, when jobs become available. I understand the background checks and fingerprint process. I have two CDV convictions in 2005 and 2007 with no other offenses or traffic tickets. I plan to seek a pardon this year and the pardon process takes 9-11 months. Would these convictions alone prevent me from getting hired? Should I wait and possibly apply next year? I am gainfully employed now, but travel extensively. The nuke job would place me closer to home. Thanks

Getting a pardon is actually useless.

Having a record does not exclude you and lack of one does not help if the process does not show that you are reliable. Recidivism is not going to look good even 10 years ago especially if DV is domestic violence.  I would add that it does not make you competitive with someone without that history. Having said all of that applying is the only way you will know for sure. Honesty on your application is vital a lie will get you a denial which will carry over to other nuclear facilities where you may apply.
