Unescorted Access/FFD Applicability

(1/2) > >>

Anonasus82:
Hello, I am a contractor and will be visiting a nuclear power plant for a one day meeting to discuss Licensing type activities. That is, I will not be near any plant operations, and will most likely be in the engineering offices. Will I be subject to unescorted and FFD requirements?

If so, will I be informed ahead of time?

Thanks in advance for the help.

MMM:
Informed of what?

Ksheed:
For a one day visit you will be escorted. You are still subject to for cause testing if you appear to be under the influence.  You will need valid photo ID and they will ask if you are a US Citizen, and if you have ever been denied access at a commercial nuclear facility. You will be required to stay in line of sight with your escort while in the protected area.

Informed that I will have unescorted access and will be subject to their FFD program.

Thanks for the reply.

Do any plants do random testing for access when you are receiving escorted access? Or only for cause?
