Those of us who went to NRF Idaho for protype school drove/rode by a road that ended in a large mound of dirt every day. It was the remains of the SL1 reactor. Those of us who went to ELT school in the early 70s had Arlo Trost as their civilian RadCon instructor. Arlo was on the initial entry team into SL1. The only active facility at NRF today fuel storage.
