Shinnecock in South Hampton is one of the best I have ever been on. With a 4 wheel drive permit you park as close as you dare with the incoming tides. You can also tow your campers right on the beach. You have to air down the tires to ~15psi but they have compressors as you get off the dunes. Some of the best stripper fishing around for surfcasting.Shoreham used to be here but I think Brookhaven Lab counts.

gotta say Diablo Canyon.  3 beaches, one clothing optional if you dare ;D.  Clamming, horseback riding, atvs, dirve on beach.  Plus beautiful sunsets.
It is what it is!

I see the ocean every time I'm at my desk... gotta agree, it really is beautiful!

There are also four lakes near by for fishing, boating, windsurfing, wakeboarding, etc.  And we don't get alot of weather, either.
