The tower used to do shielding studies for the nuclear aircraft can be seen from the visitor's center and observation deck in the TVA recreation park at Melton Hill Dam across the Clinch River from ORNL.

I got a pretty cool 1958 film digitized in November that shows a reactor flying on the Tower Shielding Facility.
