ANS-UPRM Student Section advocates for Puerto Rican nuclear

Members of the American Nuclear Society student section at the University of Puerto Rico–Mayagüez testified before the island's House of Representatives to support Proyecto de la Cámara 1092. The proposed legislation seeks to amend current energy policy to include nuclear power and small modular reactors in the local energy portfolio. If passed, the bill would authorize the university to establish research programs evaluating the feasibility of nuclear energy for the island.
