Paul Cantonwine discusses Rickover with AMSE

Alan Lowe the executive director of the AMSE is bringing the sail of the USS Houston to Bissell Park in Oak Ridge. Statues of Admiral Rickover and Alvin Weinberg will be placed in front of the sail. Although I am more interested in the Navy side of this exhibit, it will be part of the nationwide Manhattan Project museum. Rickover started his career here in Oak Ridge at the Graphite reactor earning his Doctorate of Pile Engineering or D.O.P.E degree. Cmdr George Wallace author of many submarine novels is expected to speak at the opening ceremony; he was the CO of the Houston in 92'.
