Holtec International, Entergy, and Hyundai Engineering and Construction have signed a memorandum of agreement to evaluate the potential deployment of SMR-300 small modular reactors. The collaboration focuses on identifying candidate sites and commercial structures within Entergy's service territory to meet rising demand for carbon-free baseload power from large-load industrial customers.

This initiative utilizes a dual-unit configuration designed to provide approximately 680 Mwe of electricity. By integrating Holtec's reactor technology with Hyundai's construction experience, the partners aim to create a scalable delivery model. The project relies on the SMR-300 design currently slated for deployment at the Palisades site in Michigan, which serves as the reference plant for future commercialization efforts.
