Could anyone tell me why it takes so long to get an "L" clearance for the DOE? I hear work on mine was 100% completed 2 weeks ago - but I'm still waiting for a decision to grant or deny it. I hear no field investigation is done, so why does it take 3 months for this - is this pure government bureacracy at work, or what? It doesn't take that long to do a credit check / criminal check / emplyment check - does it ? Thanks.
