Is Ginna bicycle friendly? I don't know, but we do have a bike rack near the guardhouse. There are always locals bicycling on the roads near the plant.

A room to rent within walking distance? Not that I know of. One of our house techs usually rents out rooms during the outage, and he lives the closest to the plant of any of us. Email me privately with your name and how you can be contacted, and I will forward it to him. He may already be full, though. There are a couple of hotels within a couple of miles- Twin Rock Motel being the closest. Others include the Ontario Motel and the Cornerstone Inn (which also has a diner.) Hope this info helps.

If you're going to Ginna DO NOT stay at the Conerstone INN unless you like dirty rooms that do not get cleaned, ants in the room with you, and a heating system that either has the room at 85 degrees or less then 60 degrees. I stayed there and it was unpleasant. It's run by folks who do not speak English and don't bother with many of the things you would expect in a motel such as smoke detectors that work.

Avalon Apartments are clean, affordable and Quiet. Ask for Georgia. She gives a great rate for the outages.

I am out of state now at Songs, but wife has said she would have no problem if someone is looking for a place to stay..Here's the options:

"Mother in law suite" downstairs, has kitchen and bathroom. Couch, recliner(you would have to provide blow up bed if couch isn't good enough.) 42" flat screen. Wood burner stove if ya like we have lots of firewood. 200/wk...

Back bedroom, king size bed, bathroom all your own plus family room with pool table, wood burner if you desire and full size pool table, and a 58" plasma. Wireless network in house also. Jacuzzi...Share the kitchen, female only for this one...150/wk

We do have friendly dogs..

I have a 4000sq ft home(6 bedrooms) 11 miles from the plant.

Hi there,

I have a nice, remodeled 3 bedroom house in Sodus Point NY available for rent. I currently have a Ginna contract worker who has been there since September and will be leaving December 31st. The house is available starting January 1st. If offers new kitchen appliances with everything needed for cooking, a front porch and back deck, a fenced in yard, nice furnishings and room for a family or a few roommates!

This is in the heart of Sodus Point on John Street. About a 15 minute drive to Ginna, Sodus Point offers restaurants (Captain Jack's, Papa Joes) in walking distance from the house. I have a 4000 sq ft house on 20+ acres that I am willing to rent pretty cheap(5 bedrooms 3-1/2 bath second kitchen, 3 woodburners, pool table 2 big screen TVs, above ground pool and seperate cuzzi by house.
