Title: Scuba Diving in Nuclear Power--

I searched the forums for information on diving in the commercial nuke world and it turned up very little.

I was an ELT and Diver in the Navy and have heard that there could be some very specific opportunities for someone with those qualifications.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

I worked with them at Trojan a few years back...they were a good group...seems like most of their nuclear work was overseas, but...

Thanks. I have spent an awful lot of time trying to get the search to return some results but with little success, hence the post.
Attempted searches:
diver, diving, reactor diving, pool diving, radcon diving, nuclear diving, nuclear diver.....

I'm not the lazy guy who doesn't want to bother looking for the answer, learned that lessons years ago in NNPP.

Post was a last resort after scanning the forums for at least an hour. I did finally get a link from a friend as well as someone here on the site.

I do appreciate all help from fellow posters, I have learned a ton of information in a short time from this site.

When I worked at Chem-Nuclear, we use to keep equipment for a company in Fla. that did Nuc diving. Sorry for the life of me I can not remember the company name but I know those guys made big bucks working and deconning Fuel pools.

Actually, the consensus is that divers do not make very good money at nukes.  The work is very sparse, and thee are too many guys who do it for the love of diving.

I'd be interested to know how true this is.  Anyone have any hard numbers?

If you were an ELT, you have many more opportunities in Ops, Chemistry or RP than you will find diving the pit.
