Title: Adivce on valve work AOV & MOV
Post by: scott3367 on Jan 02, 2011, 09:50
Advice needed for valve work AOV & MOV. Have 7 yrs exp. in const.
work, 5 of those in Nuclear, pipe fitter and pressure testing new piping and valves. Been self employed for last few yrs. and thinking of getting into valve rebuilding , testing , replacing .  Do not have enough exp. to go in as top tech. and need more education. Please point me in the right direction, attend classes, read repair manuals? Maybe I can hire in as a helper, what is the average pay for tech vs tech helper? Thanks

A couple of the heavy hitters in the valve repair/testing/maintenance arena are AMES and Crane.  Both offer employment and training opportunities.
