This thread just got started on the old message board, I think it is very interesting.
As I stated on the other message, I like Eric Bartlett, he has always tried to give it to me straight.
Stephany Long will try to find a job for anyone, even if it isn't with her company, she just wants to help.
(That's about everyone I have dealt with.)
Remember, this is a love fest, not a hate fest.
-
Lisa Carter is my all time Favorite! I used to call her up and talk to her for hours. I just loved her accent.
one of the best I recall was Lisa Carter at ARC. She never really fit in with the ARC "good ol boy" philosophy.
-
Eric B. is the man!!! ;D
Judy used to be OK until she chose the dark side!!! :-[
-
Eric B. has ALWAYS done right by me so far. ;D Judy on the other hand - well I can't use that language and still be a member here >:( There are a few others in the office that use fuzzy logic to get what they want.
-
8)I know Eric Bartlett pretty well, I guess you can say I've known him pretty much my whole life. He's bought me a few beers before, awful nice of him I'd say. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't have this job. Yeah there are times when he can get on your nerves and such but overall I found him to be a stand-up type of guy - hell ask my, i mean his mom she'll tell ya so.
;Dsorry - i couldn't resist ;D
-
I guess Eric does have a sense of humor.
Something like that just might come in handy when dealing with some of their clients.
-
:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
Roxanna Khoury is the best recruiter anywhere
bar none
Most reliable, trustworthy, honest, and hard working
-
::)
the man in question is mike owen. not "owens". he's never done me wrong and i have known him for almost 20 years.
maybe if you got to know him you might change your mind. but as someone said before they are just filling a quota and are not there to satisfy us, they are just doing their job. i honestly would not want to do it.

If you are not already aware of this, Onsite is a sister company of a parent company named Aerotek, which is part of an umbrella corporation named Allegis Group. In the past, there has been much controversy surrounding Aerotek and sister companies and improper practices with wages and compensation. I believe there was a multi-million dollar class action lawsuit against them.
You may very well be a lucky person by selecting another employer. To find out about Aerotek and companies, go to monster.com and do a search for them or post into the Monster forum about these companies. I guess the stories are nightmares. Aerotek sister companies are Maxim Group, Tek Systems, and Job Options, to name a few. Just do a search on them.
-
Best that I ever dealt with was Linda Perry....... and she had the best legs in the biz...........worked for RAd from start to demise.
-
I cannot believe that no replies have been posted here,
maybe you should have made the post "the best looking recruiters".
Along with Favorites, you should add "Recruiter Babes",
no offense intended to the ladies in the offices. :-*
My vote goes to K. Inman
-
I'll tell you what... I try to talk to all the recruiters at all the companies. I have found that they are all great people that try very hard at a thankless job. I don't know what they get paid, but it's not enough. Especially when they have to quote us our pay rates. We rely on these guys and gals to get us jobs, negotiate a fair wage, give us driving directions, lodging directions, bonus checks, travel pay, and some times we ask them to get us in contact with old friends.
Any way, every recruiter that I have worked for has gone out of their way to help me in one way or another and I appreciate it. Thank you.
Favorite? They are all great.
-
Yeah, I have to agree, Jamie D'Angelo was my favorite recruiter until he left Bartlett. I hear he is doing well, and on occasion I still get emails from him.
I think that Jamie at Bartlett was the best recruiter the industry ever had!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
nuke recruiter.... judy didn't do a whole lot more or less than any other recruiter, she just did it with an attitude and iffen ya didn't like it ya got placed on the list that never was there.
-
I'll say it...
Judy was a recruiter that used to work for Bartlett, and I beleive there was no love lost when she left.
Just my two cents.
I hate to be so negative, so here is a little positive note:
I'd like to repeat my thanks to Eric Bartlett and Bill Tily, they have always treated me well.
Quick question, and just out of curiosity:
Who is this "Judy" person, and what made her so bad?
-
My experience with Judy:
Bartlett wanted HPs with CE plant experience to go to Palisades...at the time was working for Bartlett. Spoke with Judy and related the CE plants I had worked. The response was "Not those type of CE plants." Wasn't even submitted. Never realized there were so many different types of CE plants. Guess I didn't send enough, candy, flowers, cards, etc.
-
I thought Bill's last name was spelled Tily ???. Either way, I have to say Bill is one of the very few recruiters that never sends my resume out to a utility without calling me for permission first. Sue Opdyke needs mentioned also. Either of these two are always good to talk to just to get the true skinny on whats going on in the industry at any particular time and/or coming up in the future.
-
I agree with the group, Eric Bartlett is my favorite. ;D I always felt that he gave it to me straight and honestly tried his best to help me not just in getting the job but also when already on the job. Barlett never did me wrong, they also had good Health Ins for being a road tech. I also like Roxanna.
-
:) :) :)I THINK K. INMAN AT NUMANCO IS ONE OF THE BEST RECRUITERS.... 8) 8) 8)
-
When Nobody else would even look at me Derek Hayes hooked me up and has me on the right track. He did alot of foot work from me called to see how I was doing and even beefed up my resume for me. He knows about alot of companies in power generation and out.
Derek Hayes www.targetps.com

P.S. I got the Job it is shift work with Eight straight days off a month, it's like a vacation every month. :) :) :)
-
Kristy Inman and Stephanie Long are very profesional.
-
I'm an SRO Ops Instructor, when I started out I worked for Carl Sundstrom of CFS Utility Services.
Carl got me exactly what I wanted in rate (y) and always paid max CONUS rate per diem. Which is almost unheard of nowadays.
I don't know if CFS handls HPs, I know he does handle Engineers.
-
My vote would be for the recruiter that gets me my next job but until then Rich Lansel at Sciencetech has been hard to beat.
-
Roxanna (Numanco) is my SECOND favorite recruiter.
-
Stephanie's got my vote. Plus she is a very beautiful woman. ;D
-
Joe Worley gets my vote!
-
Of course contractors never lie........ only Recruiters! .
Do you really believe that a recruiter who barely makes over the poverty level, makes the decisions on who does, and does not go to a site? No way! I don't believe it, it comes from higher powers.
I would pay good money to speak to an ex-nuclear recruiter to get the truth about "Double Secret Probation", amongst other things. Imagine the secrets they could reveal.
-
wait 10 years and you'll get to read my "tell all" book

Written from a jail cell?
-
sue opdyke has to be the best
ive known her for almost 20 years now
always was upfront with me
she cared
I agree.
-
I'll say it...
Judy was a recruiter that used to work for Bartlett, and I beleive there was no love lost when she left.
She would routinly flat-out lie to people, and was very biased when placing workers.
I concur
-
I wouldn't mind taking a quick glance at the unedited version of that book, but my real interest would be talking to an ex-recruiter that didn't have the same last name as the company. There were two long-time recruiters that come to mind, and they have much nicer voices then Eric.
-
The top two recruiters in my book are Sue Opdyke and Frank Corris (a name from the past for some of you folks). Both of them were always, always, always straight up. You may not want to hear what they had to say but I was never ever lied to. They were always pleasant to chat with and very professional.
-
My favorite recruiter is Marie, at Bartlett. She is the best!
Last year I was trying to get into the Beach, and I kept hitting a wall (which from what I hear had something to do with a resume reviewer, not Bartlett) and instead of the recruiter telling me flat out that I couldn't get in they kept giving me the run around. So finally out of desperation, I called Marie. Even though it wasn't her site, and she was very busy, she went out of her way to say no, I couldn't get in, and found me a job at another site.
Whenever I have a problem, she's who I call, because she always gets me an answer.
-
EVERYONE WITH NUMANCO! thank you
-
Marie and Bryan at Bartlett are totally cool.
-
Marie from Bartlett has always been so awesome! Such a great help in any way that she can be!
-
I Love Kristy!
No matter who she works for!
-
Eric B. for president!!!
-
Beverly with IRM was the best.
-
Krist Inman has my vote NOW AND FOREVER. And she is a babe. I miss my friend,we go back a long way and a lot of secrets. Kristy where are you???
Remo
-
I'm a recruiter...have great legs & I need a Sr HP!!! Call me! :)
-
I'm a recruiter, 29,single, handsome (brutally honest) and play for the Yankees of the nuclear game. I need SHP's more than Jessica Rabbit does. ;D
And yes, I'm a Red Sox fan, so equating myself with the Yankees is coming close lunacy. :)
-
Handsome huh? Well let's see those legs! J/K ;)
-
I'm not so sure that would be a good idea. I think I would have to shave them first to have any sort of luck. And even then I don't think I would be attracting the people I want to be attracting!!!
I'll leave the leg show's up to you!
;)
-
Kevin,
You are funny! Thanks for the laughs today. Good luck w/filling your positions.
Kim
-
Anne with Bartlett is a way cool lady also.
-
Anne with Bartlett is a really neat lady. My hat is off to her..CB
-
SUE OPDYKE hands down was the very best, she never lied to anyone I know.
Now who put Joe Worley??? Rhonda is that you??
-
And there are those that remember fondly Kristie Inman of the recently deceased " Numanco". She was always very helpful, understanding of situations that made a showup date hard to make and would do her level best to solve the problem.
Think that she is now with Atlantic Group. With her recruiting, they will have alot of techs in no time................well..... if the money's right. ;D
-
Any Recruiter who know's what their selling! The new batch of Recruiters don't seem to have much of a clue as to their product! Many of the seasoned Recruiters would/will routinely chat and hold a conversation on the phone. Some good old fashion Bull Shitting, ( Sorry ), sometimes for hours! Maybe even get you to sign up for a job they weren't even calling about.
Today's Newbies, call with a specific agenda. If you say anything other than YES, they responde with OK, then hang up the phone! I like the ones who call you up, offers you two or three jobs, then ask you if your qualified! I had one ask me if I was 3, 1, I told him I was 6, 2! The fifteen second of silence, followed by, " What's That? ", sort of clued me in on his experience and humor level!
Phone Etiquette seems to be a lost art. I've posted some of the better ones on a seperate thread, many I have not. To the new Recruiters, it is better to identify yourself and/or your company, instead of saying, " Is this Bob"? Depending which state your calling, ( believe it or not ), the response will be proportional, up to and including, " CLICK "!
Several techs I maintain contact with, all agree with one irritating trend, the multiple call backs. I can guarantee " NO ", on my home phone, sound exactly the same on my Cell phone! No, also sounds the same on Monday through Friday! It also sounds the same any time of the day! I talked to one tech, who had the same offer, five calls in a row, over a two week period! Keep notes people!
In summation, the best recruiter is the one who gets me the best opportunity!
Have a Great Holiday, Carefull on the Road, RG!
-
Rad-Ghost, that was very informative! I have recruited in other technical areas for years but I am fairly new to the nuke area. This site has helped me more than anything! I am a "talker" and I'll have to say that everyone I have called on for HP jobs have been extremely helpful to me. So to all of you I say THANKS! And I promise not to call over & over on the same job! ;)
Kim
-
In reply to Rad-Ghost's post this morning, I am a recruiter for Bartlett and I am guilty of calling techs and having the same offer for 2 staright weeks. But in all fairness I haven't spoken to the tech, or gotten a "NO" for an answer, it has been a series of messages left for that tech, who is a many time returnee who I am 99% percent sure will want to confirm if I can ever get a reply. So in all fairness we do keep notes, usually of techs who don't return the first or second call, which is fine, we understand, but you cannot get mad or frustrated when we continue to call if you haven't given us any answer. And in defense of recruiters, we are looking out for techs who usually do a certain run for a season. That is better for you the road tech, would you rather we call once and then fill your slot because you didn't return our first phone call? I don't think that would make you happy either. So, I can say I was trained and taught by one of the best in the Business, Eric Bartlett, I am thorough, diligent and I exhaust all returnees first, that keeps the technicians happy, the client happy and my boss happy. My name is Joey Melanson and I can be reached @ extension 1272 in the Bartlett Home Office
-
My Favorite Recruiter; is a person who gets the message after three unanswered calls and moves down the list! A person who understand HE answers to ME, not ME to HIM! If you don't have a message on your machine, or my resume in your mailbox, don't bother me! Also a person who doesn't keep notes on when I do not return his calls, ( Must be some double secret something behind that one ). A person who offers a COMPLETE list of opportunities, not a selective list of assignments notorious for being unpleasent, short duration and historicly hard to staff, ( Believe it or not, there are reasons for that )! A person who realizes that holding a vacant, uncommited slot, for weeks, closes opportunities to other perspective employees.
One interesting aspect to the staffing game. It appears that Technicians names are now applied to vacancies, before the actual phone calls go out! I assume that anybody not on the list, goes to the back of the line for table scraps! Interesting.. :-\
Obviously my prior posting was unacceptable to at least one recruiter, Sorry! The thread is Favorite Recruiter, which doesn't necessarily apply a name, but also the qualities, likes and dislikes, that a Good Recruiter would understand! My opinion only!
PS:
Just my guess, but I wouldn't expect EXT 1272, to need a ringer replacement, anytime in the near future! ;D
-

Ouch! I haven't even been Recruited that often yet. Sounds like a "Dead Ringer to Me"LOL! ;D

SUE OPDYKE hands down was the very best, she never lied to anyone I know.
Now who put Joe Worley??? Rhonda is that you??
What do you mean "was"? Sue is still recruiting nukes for Babcock Services, Inc. She doesn't hire many HP's but she's a great lady to just shoot the breeze with on the phone. As far as her recruiting skills go, she has gotten me to do a job that was way below my level of training for really crappy money just because I didn't have anything better to do and she asked so nicely. Sue will not ever do you wrong.
-
Amen on that one!
I've only worked with her on one occassion, but I've probably shot the breeze with her a hundred times. She also gives it to you straight! If the jobs has problems, you'll know about them before you sign on the doted line! It's somewhat refreshing to have someone who gives the details and actually knows something about the customers they support! Then again, she knows her interests can only be supported, by supporting the interests of her employee's!
Have a Great Day, RG
-
Kim, of Task Performance! It is a First for the industry, but she actual considered the Technician's Input! Only time will tell, but it's a Great Start!
Karma to Her, RG!
-
I agree. She will probably get a lot more responses by doing what she did. But y'know what? ...I don't remember ever telling a recruiter what the pay should be before this. I don't remember any of them asking either.
-
Awww thanks guys!
Kim

Can't argue with Good, Smart Business..... ;D

You may very well be a lucky person by selecting another employer. Wish I saw this sooner...oh well. :'(
-
When i think of recruiters
i think of Herb Tarlek
know what i mean?
If I need a visual I think I'll stick with Jennifer ;D
-
Kristi Inman is tops
-
Scott Watson of Areotek is one of the best I've every come across! Honest and straight forward!
Hatch "HERO!"
-
I guess I like just about all the recruiters.
-
Favorite Recruiter would be the one that says our lowest paying 3.1 job is $25 and $100 p/d
-
I managed to contact Roxanna K the first time shortly after Bartlett bought up Numanco. She was having a really rough day and it sorta bled through the phone. Not at me, and besides, I have sisters. After a few pointed questions towards her current predicament, she touted that we were gonna get along just fine... So far she is my favorite, Ann at Bartlett runs a close second. Heck, I owe'em both lunch and drinks... looking forward to returning the favors :)
-
Beverly Johnson with IRM. No contest!!
-
...hey Spanky!!!!...have I been at Besse too long or just gone braindead,,again,,,"Kim of Task Performance"?????,,,never heard of this company....clue me in,,,,,,,,,
-
Sue Opdyke is pretty cool
-
Kevin O with Big Blue is a good dude to deal with.
-
Kevin O with Big Blue is a good dude to deal with.
I'd have to agree with that.....
-
Never heard of them. But I'll find out who they are.
-
Why hasn't anyone mentioned Igle Frost???
Just kidding.
-
Su Opdyke could always be trusted. Eric Bartlett has a lot of grace.
-
I guess my favorite would have to be ERIC BARTLETT. I started with bartlett in 1986, he has always straight up with me. Eric has helped me out of some tough spots over the years.I will always remember what he did and told me when I split with my wife. Eric knows time, people and all things change but he still remember how things used to be and will be straight up.
I know there is some other good ones out there, but this topic was for your favorite
-
I agree completely.
-
Sue Opdyke; Kristy and Roxanne at Atlantic; as well as Georgia and Mary Ann at G. D. Barri. They're all great and straight shooters. I have never been able to work things out with Bartlett, but I have never worked with Eric directly.
I have begun to work with a few more, I'll keep you updated. Is there a least favorite recruiters poll?
Also, I think that a very special thanks is due to to Nukeworker.com for bringing everybody together!
-
I forgot to include Ken Baugh of B&B Environmental and Bill Tily of Bartlett. Sorry men.
-
That's too easy...NONE :o ;) They is mostly like any politician >:( You figger it out...read between da lines!! ;D
-
I would say Beverly Johnson, IRM. She would tell you in the spring where she had you scheduled to work for the whole year practically(if you liked). Always pleasant and I do not ever remember her low balling your cash, either.
Before Bartlett had alot of Recruiters I believe Bruce Bartlett was pretty great himself! He'd call saying beautiful area, fresh all you can eat lobster, what ever the money was that he'd offer and I need you there on... and then would ask about your family and call them by name? Pretty cool you know and Also just a good man.
-
I really liked dealing with Beverly and Bruce. Again, "the good ole days...
-
To mention a guy who has not been mentioned before, Matt Karczewski of Merit Consultants in Bellevue, WA. He put me onto a job as an ops instructor and later helped me get into contract training.
-
Scott is my fav at Bartlett..he and Eric keep me hopping !! and plus he is a great guys to talk to and always has jobs for me :) They ask about my family ( by name) and i consider them friends as well as recruiters.
Tricia is also very nice and very professional..i havent spoken to the new recruiters much so i dont really have established relationships with them but hope to in the future ! Ive made alot of money because of the jobs they send my way!
God Bless and Happy Holidays
ps..i know she isnt a recruiter but hello to Julie in Insurance and Danielle in payroll..they are very helpful and very professional also
-
I have to tip my hat to EB! That is when his other job doesn't get in the way!
