We used to see these at Yankee Rowe in the spring at night on the VC deck. They are colored that way as a defense mechanism. Birds, amphibians, reptiles, and rodents know what yellow and magenta means, so they won't eat them. Her name is Rosy...Rosy Maple Moth. No relation to Marla.
