OK. This is for the radiotherapy geeks.
I have a head that holds a 15,000 Curie source.
It is covered with Depleted Uranium for shielding.
It weighs about 3,000 pounds.
The calculation is that it will read <1 mr/hr around the outside.
The Main Man wants me to find someone who can either fabricate something or bring in a tool that will monitor for pin leaks or escaping radiation.
Does anyone have a clue for this one?

Depending on the nuclide your pin head could be irrelevant>

At times, I am inclined to agree :P
On-topic: How would there be streamers? Is the shielding welded, bolted/flanged or ?

Hummmmm...... ::)
If your attempting to verify leakage during operation, check out the Radcal 1015, 1515.
Their out of production, but still out there.

That just means that there is alot of activity in my head, HD. Use that to your benefit, the forum is open.....:)
OK, follow me here.
From the inside out, here is the layout:
The source is first, then the source casing, then the DU, then stainless steel.....so it is 4 layers.
The constructor is not in yet, so the attachment method is not clear just yet.

It will be bolted in and wrapped in a stainless steel casing.
