Post by: badfishy4u on Jan 18, 2007, 05:02
I have a Core RCT cert, I was just wondering since I got it in May of 2005. does it need to be updated, or recertified or anything like that.  Its more of a diploma kind of deal I have it doesnt say anything about renewal.  I was just wondering.

From what I understand there are no more DOE CORE certs, only testing.  Then its up to the DOE facility where you took the test to notify other facilities that you are qualified.

Some Doe Facilities exempt you if you have an NRRPT.  I think Jrs Should get DOE certs and Seniors should pass NRRPT.  Its amazing how ignorant some seniors are about basic HP theory and instruments. This would help us in bringing up standards.  However, I doubt DOE would do it.

Does anyone know where a friend of mine can requal his DOE Core? He isn't going to work for a company yet, but will be shortly.

He also needs to do the 40-hour HazWoper.

What is the best option?

Your friend can do the 40 hr hazwoper on NukeWorker:

As for the core, your friend should wait and do it on site, requalifing early has no advantages.  He can practice online here:
