Title: OPM Data Breach
Post by: birius on Jun 26, 2015, 12:28
Has anyone had any issues receiving their security clearances while in DEP?

I depped in Jan15 2015 and now, after being rolled out twice, am shipping in November 2015.

The Nuclear coordinators explained to me that the OPM data breach has caused a bunch of future nukes to not acquire their security clearances in time. In my case, my clearance was finished in April, but never adjudicated.

Just wondering if anyone here has had issues arise from these recent events.

All "paperwork" submitted to OPM prior to them closing the eQIP system down on June 26 will be processed in the usual fashion.  eQIPs submitted after that date will be delayed until the system comes back up on line.  They are saying 4-6 weeks.

They are looking at the possibility of handling hardcopies as well as some other alternatives. Those options will introduce their own delays.

You may want to do some checking.  It is my understanding that adjudication occurs within 30 days of the investigation being completed.  If that indeed is where your hold-up is, they should continue to process.

Maybe they will catch up on the backlog.
