Harvey Price died today at home. He was an Old Timer HP currently working at Oconee. I know I will miss him. Will post more information when it comes available.

Worked for Harvey once at Oconee and really liked him and his old timer stories. Despite his awesome old timer stories he didn't seem that old. Sorry he is gone.

Harvey was 57. Was a tractor accident. Not old at all. He was a wonderful father, friend , and lead. Will be sadly missed. Been working with him since 07.

Yes 5kip6 it was accident and age wasn't the fault thks. I to just got myself a zero turn so I know how awkward they are to learn and he just got his. All who knows me know just how close we was as friends. no words can describe just how much he will be missed. Harvey was a good hearted, a proud Dad as well as grandpa. I keep wishing this was a dream but I truly believe he with God and will be watching over us. Harvey will be missed by all who knew him REST IN PEASE MY BROTHER

Harvey was grouchy, mischievous, kind, big hearted, sharp tongued, funny and great wouldn't have him any other way. "Harvey Price, kin I hep ya?" Will not be heard anymore :(

Man I worked with Harvey in the early 90's at Oconee. Good guy, funny, sharp and ready to help. Rest in peace my Friend.

Obituary for Harvey Joe Price
Harvey Joe Price, 57, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at his home.
A native of Oconee County, Harvey was the son of Ernest Joe and Rosa Nell Sanders Price. Harvey worked as a Radiation Protection Specialist at Duke Energy.
He was a hardworking and selfless man, who left a legacy of bass fishing to his sons and family friends. Harvey attended New Spring Church in Anderson.
Harvey is survived by his sons: Bo Price (Jessica) of Seneca, and Fisher Price (Diana) of Beaufort, SC; brother: Sammy Price (Tonya) of Seneca; sister: Cindy Burns of Seneca; grandson: Finn Price; niece: Stella Price; and nephews: Will and Alan Burns.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Heritage Memorial Gardens in Westminster.
The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:30 PM, prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Teach a Kid to Fish via www.teachakidtofish.org (http://www.teachakidtofish.org).
The family is at the home 209 Price Farm Road, Seneca.

This is a tough day for the thousands who knew Harvey Price. He had a heart of gold. I love you, man... Go to heaven a shoutin'! When someone passes away so unexpectedly, I always think of certain fun memories and music... For Harvey, it was that smile! Our craziest memory was the late night York County Sheriff License Check we came upon. I dug through my handbag and found a Hall's cough drop and shoved it in his mouth before the officer reached his window. Whew, we were crazy lucky that night. The Hall's cough drop trick was an oldie. Harvey wasn't aware of this trick to mask the smell of alcohol. As soon as the officer let us go, Harvey was cursing me because it tasted horrible and he was cheering me for being so slick. After that lucky night, he nicknamed me, "City Girl." The music that comes to mind is, "Go Rest High On That Mountain", "The Dance", "You Should Be Here" and "Die a Happy Man." Please, watch over us my good friend. I hope to see you again one fine day. harvey price.... his name wrings a bell from long ago. aye don't think eye new him as h.p., but as a k-mac worker at oconee. i remember him as a hard worker with a good sense of humor. eye am sure he'll be mist in many ways.

I talked to Harvy Tuesday morning for about 30 minutes,he told me I did'nt know a damn about farming,and he was right.Told me my bermuda grass would be up in 2 weeks, he told me how to plant it last year.This guy would help anybody,fishing,farming,raising cows.I was walking out the door,and he said,having a big cookout at my place soon.Said I be there. Gone the next day.He will be missed by myself,and many,many more.

My wife called at work to tell me ... whew! Same here Tabbi. My thoughts immediately turned to all of my memories of Harvy. From softball back in the K-Mac days to "finally" make it back into the Duke system as HP's. Stopped me in my tracks for a while. Wish I could be there to pay respects. No doubt Davenports will be overwhelmed today. I bet there will be a few tears, but a whole lot of "Harvy Joe Price" stories. A true one-of-a kind! Thoughts and prayers to the family.

Went to Harvey's viewing today. I bet there was somewhere between 800 to 1000 people processed through. I know it was very hard on his family to stand and greet them all, there was people from different States as well. A true tribute to the man he was to all who knew him. I know he's with God now and can relax. will miss his peppers ,Home made Strawberry ice-cream and other garden stuff he would bring oh lets not forget his deep fried turkey and smoked Ham, but most of will miss him. I worked with Harvey in the Duke System in the 80's and then again at Robinson in the 90's. He always had a good story to tell and took his work very serious, always willing to help others. RIP brother!

I drove to the funeral home from the Knoxville area. There was a huge gathering of people to pay their final respects. Harvy was a great and fun person to be around. I will miss him. RIP old friend. ISOCS

Just saw where Harvey passed. Knew him well from Hatch in the early 80's. Was one of those guys who came to Hatch as a Jr. Tech and stayed for a long time. Was still there when I left in 85. He was a trip. Sorry for his loss and wish his family well.
