Title: NISP
Post by: ogre77414 on Dec 20, 2017, 12:25
Has anyone implemented NISP procedures at their site yet?  We just received rough drafts at our site and WOW!  There's going to be some growing pains.  We just gutted our procedures and attached the NISPs as an addendum in the back.  It doesn't flow well in the body of the procedure and cross referencing is pretty sloppy.  How have ya'll seen them implemented?

We implemented the NISPs last Feb-Apr.

Basically the same. Implemented the NISPs, then gutted and reorganized every procedure with duplicate info. It's a slow process. We're still occassionally finding parts in a procedure we missed and need to rev. Luckily people from my company had considerable input in writing the NISPs so adapting hasn't been too crazy. Though we have been forced to roll back some of our methods for being too extreme and going against DNP.

We implemented around the same time.  Growing pains are pretty much over.  The funniest part is when our management pitched this to us they spoke of the NISPs as a "living, breathing document that could be changed as needed".  They may have misspoke :-)

On the contractor side it seems to be going a little slower.  Still having to "grandfather" people in with the NUF versus the off site training.  Allegedly that should change next year.  Shouldn't be an issue though as most are returnees.

Common procedures for the Industry. It is an INPO 'Delivering the Nuclear Promise' thing.
