Title: Electro-polishing pipe
Post by: Meltdown on Aug 24, 2011, 04:09
Does any one out there have any experience with electro-polishing internals on primary piping? I have an opportunity to have a high rad section of pipe replaced and would like the new pipe to be electro-polished to reduce crud deposition. I'm getting push-back from the usual suspects - any satisfied customers I could point to would be helpful. Our S/G bowls are polished, but the piping guys are still nervous.

Thanks

If I recall from my days at VY, the replacement recirc pipe was all treated to minimize crud build up.

They tried that at riverbend once.... they still tell horror stories about it, but thats a BWR, not a PWR like yours.
