Please reply to this topic if you have (or know who has) a contract at this facility. If you (they) have multiple contracts (i.e. QC & NDE) please mention all of them. Also, please remember to post company contact information, including but not limited to company phone number, email and web site address. Also, if there is a specific person at the company people should ask for, you should mention their name and extension. We maintain a chart of contracts, the information posted here will be added to the contract chart.

The VFW has cold beer and pool tables. Right next door is the
Hill Top House which has really good food, make sure to try the home-made desserts.

-

There may not be a lot of openings, but there sure seems to be a lot of interviewing going on!
-

-
its like any other DOE onion.. lots of layers... i think most RCT jobs are with local companies. I know eberline is going to hire a few.

Appears to be only rumor at this point.
-
good rumor
-
The anticipated award date is 12/1/05. Nothing has been awarded as of yet.
-
good rumor
If it isn't a fact, and people know it to be untrue, it is not a "good" rumor. It is disinformation, and we try not to dis-inform our readers.
-
somethin' must be up, Lockheed staff members were in LANL training this week. Didnt see any Bechtel or WGI there. hmmmmm
-
Thinking of transferring to Carlsbad, NM. Anyone work in that area? If so, what's it like?
-
Anyone know what LANL is like for a contractor these days? I asked some techs who had been there a few years back and they said you weren't allowed to do any work until you got a clearance...is that still the case?
I would like an excuse to hang out in that area for a few months. One of the contract companies told me "Term can be as short or long as you wish." But...only want to take a job if they are going to keep me busy.
Thank you!
-
I don't know, but I'd bet "probably". I see the Environmental Management jobs under NB3 are still asking for a Q. Not good.
-
Sometimes they will give you an escort. Thats what they did when I was there a hundred years ago.
-
Thats a while ago.
-
Excerpted from a PM:
...at the waste facilities at Los Alamos...a contractor that has been working here for 7 years uncleared. Every part of the lab is different. No clearance needed at the waste facilities. ...

It depends on where you are assigned. Some places require you to have a Q some do not. Most anything involving 55, CMR, Sigma, SM 39, or anything that is classified requires a Q. There is a few areas that do not require a Q but they are few.
