Title: ORAU-ANL Decommissioning Certificate Program
Post by: grantime on Mar 02, 2011, 08:59
Have any of you received this certificate?  Is it useful (either for knowledge gained or to add employment opportunities)?  It appears all the class count toward CE credits that I have to get anyway.  Wondering if it might be worthwhile.

A couple of weeks of your time and several thousand dollars seem a bit steep if it is not a required prerequisite for a position. A week in Vegas or Virginia Beach would be more fun with the family. If you are trying to break into demolition and remediation it might be worth it but I think a good resume and networking would be better.

Sounds like someone saw a way to make a few bucks off the D&D arena. They're about 20 years too late to the game because the fat lady is just about done singing. DOE cleanup jobs are disappearing fast.

DOE opportunities may be waning but on the commercial end opportunities (present and future) are available.
