Title: 50 year old reactor expected to run several more decades

The High Flux Isotope Reactor at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, which was constructed in the mid-1960s, is pretty doggone ancient when it comes to nuclear reactors.

However, the folks at ORNL think there's decades of life still left in the old research reactor, and they've apparently been pretty successful in refurbishing, upgrading and maintaining the systems needed to make that strategy work.
