Title: Traveling with kids
Post by: wiesner1 on Sep 23, 2011, 09:35
Hello--I'm a single mom, Jr HPT wanting to do some traveling, which means taking the kid on the road (she is 3). Are there any other single parents who are in this situation? I would love to join up with another single parent to do some occasional outages together; room together, split a live-in sitter who can do fun things with the kids plus a little housekeeping. It seems like the best way to make things work. I would really like to go to Turkey Point at the end of January. Thanks!

Just my opinion so take it with a grain  of salt. I traveled with the kids years ago and it's just tough all the way around. If you live half an hour away from the site you'll be gone for a solid thirteen hours or more each day. When you come home you want to eat, shower, and sleep. The kids figure it's time to jump all over you and have some fun. And what if you work nights? It's just a tough situation for a parent single or not. But single moms are a special bunch who make things work every day - just go into it with your eyes open. Maybe try a short one first?
