Title: Application Process
Post by: navynukedoc on Mar 22, 2013, 07:05
Nuke bro's and sis's,

I have blasted my resume out to a ton of different openings.

I got an email from Quad Cities asking me my life story (in a short sense), And replied. That was a week ago. I never received a confirmation saying the recruiter received it, nor have I been called to interview or told that I was passed over.

Then Yesterday I got a call for LaSalle from a recruiter but missed it. He left a VM and I returned his call only to get his VM numerous times. I left a message and am hoping for a call back.

Can anyone give me an insight to how the process works at these two specific plants? Is it common to not hear from them if they are not interested in you any further?

If they are, how long does it usually take for them to get back to you?

Thanks in advance for any info given.

-Doc

I know you asked about specific sites but Ill give my general experience. I have been contacted by maybe a dozen different recruiters, most times you won't get a call back if you are not selected, sometimes you will get an interview  call from the person you would be working for and still no call back and on rare occasions you will get a call or email telling you that you weren't selected. I guess most recruiters are pretty busy and don't have time to get back to you. That's just the way it works.

I applied for QC for ALARA, I was contacted by a recruiter within a few weeks for initial screening. I was then scheduled for an in-person interview about 3 weeks after the screening. I then could not get ahold of the recruiter for about 5 months...I thought I did not get the position. I was contacted and asked if I was still interested and then received an offer. I had written the position off and was looking at other opportunities. From my experience, nuke time is very very slow. Be patient but keep applying!
