Interesting. A long time ago I speculated that humans (apparently) developed in Africa first with help from mutations caused by possible nuclear events like the Gabon natural reactor. Now, there may be evidence that it goes further back than that.

My personal theory on human evolution is more based on chronic exposure. Habitats involving 360° of source, as in caves and then early constructs, provided the mutation(s) necessary to advance forward on the scale. However, a nuclear event poses a fast track to an ongoing progressive scenario.
