Title: Hearing Beta Radiation - ELTs Help me
Post by: hamsamich on Feb 28, 2006, 05:13
I have a question for ELTs.  I remember being able to hear the ANPDR-45 Source (I think it was Krypton-85) beta radiation hitting a piece of paper when you put the source close to a piece of paper and put your ear really close.  It was a strong, small source that would cause the ANPDR-45 (a high range B,gamma meter) to read 8.4 Rem/hr or something like that.  Does this sound right?
