As I’m sure everyone is aware, Exelon announced last week that Three Mile Island will proceed with its previously announced shutdown in September of this year due to inaction by the Pennsylvania legislature to pass legislation that properly values nuclear’s carbon-free contribution to our electricity grid.
Well, Beaver Valley is next. FirstEnergy announced a year ago that the plant will shutdown in 2021 if legislative action isn’t taken to value PA’s carbon-free nuclear plants. A grassroots effort has been underway to influence our legislators to act to support Beaver Valley’s continued operation well beyond 2021...
