Title: Co-Op Unescorted Access: Academic Issues
Post by: bigtank44 on May 29, 2015, 08:29
Hi, I'm new to the page. I just got offered a co-op at a nuclear facility and will be undergoing the inprocessing soon, so I've been reading through a lot of your posts and they've definitely helped understanding the process.
I still have some lingering questions, however.
First, some background:
I am currently enrolled in a 4 year university as an engineering major and am on an academic contract due to poor grades. At this point, I'm not sure if I'm going to meet the guidelines for the contract, and may be looking at getting kicked out of the school.
This, however, doesn't really bother me because I've realized the main cause for my poor grades has been the fact that I simply don't like my field of study. If I do meet the contract and stay in my current school, I am looking to switch to a major that I enjoy a lot more, and if I do get kicked out, I have applied and have been accepted into an ABET accredited school for an online engineering degree that I find suits my interests a lot more than my current program.

I am currently filling out the PHQ and the education section mentions that official transcripts are required.

First of all, should I mention the academic contract I am on in the PHQ?
Secondly, if I do get kicked out, would this be cause for termination of the offer?

The job listing doesn't even mention the fact that the person has to be a student, so I'm a bit confused.
Let me know what you guys think, thanks!

Answer any question asked honestly.  That may not be a question asked.
