Okay, stormgoalie made a comment the other day that got me thinking:
... can count on one hand the number of people on this site that I have worked with or met outside of the nuke industry, yet when I joined I still felt welcomed...
How many people on here could I actually walk up to in a plant, say, "Nice to see you again.", and get anything but a blank stare?
I glanced thru the member list and came up with 43 people I have worked with...how about you?
:)

Maybe if we compared them to our Facebook account? A lot less anonymous that way.
6 to 15 is easy, I would have to really look to get into the 16 to 30 or more range. But I think I can!
-
Oh...just a 'caution':
PLEASE DO NOT 'OUT' ANYONE...we just want a count, NOT names...
Thanks! :)
-
Started counting and realized I know 6 now that I could probably walk up to and say hi without getting the blank stare. May have met more, but I wouldn't count on it :)

I know Marlin, Smart People, PW Hoppe, TENN-1, HouseDad, Dave Warren, Lorrie Henson, Radwraith, Eric_Bartlett, RoadHard, Jr8black3, dinutt, Fishocker77, Daniel Dove, Barry Sapp, Jubal, Lama Grandma, and Lama.... Before online. Beercourt, DJ@LosAlamos/Clinton, Rain Man, Shawnee Man and Nuclear Nascar first from online then in person. <-- Just gold members... can't list them all.
I know a lot of people that are registered, but don't use the site often... And I know a lot of people that are registered, but I don't know their screen name.
You know, the site has a 'friend' list option. Might be easier to use that.
-
I know Rennhack!
:P
And maybe a few others....
-
Dave Warren, Lorrie Henson, Alabama Grasshopper, Henry Black, Piggyback Beta, Alan Cobb, 3rdGenHP, Mike McFarlin, Meyer8906, stirfry, ljeaniepc, Pronuke#1, rjc4243, illegalsmile, ageoldtech, roadhard and probably many more!
And sadly, I knew quite a few on the fallen list.

I would want two lists; one for friends I have met in the flesh, and one for friends in online capacity only.
Not saying anyone would sign up below BZ, but I guess it is possible.... :D

Maybe a dozen, counting you!

More than 30...
More faces than names. ;D
-
I would say 10,000 although it is hard to tell since most do not use their real name. Being a member of Nukeworker is almost like subscribing to Internet porn. Everyone does it, but no one admits to it.
-
I am in the more than 30 group, but then again I'm an old guy aand been around a lot ;)
-
I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Rennhack last night, so add one to my previous count. :)
-
So far I have only identified one person. I’m a loner :( . I’m kinda new to this site and also to the RP tech profession. I’m a Junior RP (I know one of the 10,000 out there right now :P ).
I hope I get to meet many of you members of this fascinating site along the way +K .
:D ;D

I have met about 50% of the people that responded to this thread.
It was great to finally meet you. If you are around Saturday, it's my night off (If I don't get laid off sooner), we can have a drink.
-
Wow! I don't know. Talking about NukeWorker isn't something we normally do in polite company. :P Oh yeah, that's right, we were taking about Techs. Never mind! O:)

I think I'm bodycounting tonight...have the car packed and fingers crossed that I get to head to the house! (If I don't post in the next few days, you'll know I got my west-bound wish! ;) )
I'll buy the first drink on the next outage we cross paths at. Have a safe winter!
:)
...and thanks again for the stickers...I passed a few out in the shop and will plaster the world with the rest! :)

Somehow I missed this topic when it was first posted! Count me in the more than 30 #'s, although, most miss it!

As Mike mentioned earlier, we've known each other for...well.. a long time! ;) As well as most of the others I see on this thread! I guess that probably puts me in the over 30 crowd as well. I feel it necessary here to mention that I also knew the gentleman for whom this site was named. RIP Bob!

Jeez after 30 years of traveling I have met so many great people,,but Im getting older and believe my mind is starting to slip some, just on this job alone one of the RP supervisors came up to me and asked do you remember Millstone Unit 1 Torus hydrolasing job in 1987, I said yes I remember the job, he held his Hand out and said I'm Mike Kimbro I worked right along side of you, hell I hardly remember him, so yes sometimes I give people that blank stare. LOL If ya'll ever run into me don't think Im rude I'm just getting old.
