Sad news for all those who knew and worked with Dave Walton. He passed away after a brief illness and will be missed terribly.

David "Dave" Walton, 52, of St. Joseph, passed away, Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at his home.

Celebration of Life Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Rodney Neeley officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home, with Prayers recited at 7:30 P.M. by Fr. William J. Jacobs, Jr. Memorials may be made to the Boy Scouts of America. Those wishing to sign Dave's Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.

Dave was born December 22, 1960 in Galt, Ontario, Canada. Dave played football in high school and participated in track, and was active in scouting, earning the rank of Eagle Scout. He served his country in the US Navy aboard the USS Washington Nuclear Submarine.  Dave traveled the county in the 1980s as a contract radiation protection technician. He transitioned to American Electric Power's DC Cook Nuclear Plant in 1991 where he worked with QC, PID, RP, and Emergency Preparedness.  Godspeed, Dave.

Very sad indeed. Dave was a good friend and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

So sad to hear this.  Dave was a stand-up man.  I enjoyed working for him and enjoyed his stories about his family.  Rest in peace Dave.
