Dade Moeller & Associates Employee Named President-Elect of Health Physics Society

RICHLAND, Wash. – Today, Dade Moeller & Associates, Inc. (www.moellerinc.com (http://www.moellerinc.com)), announced that senior professional Edward F. Maher has been named President-Elect of the Health Physics Society, a nonprofit scientific organization whose mission is to promote the practice of radiation safety. Maher has a Doctor of Science degree from Harvard University and is a Certified Health Physicist.

As President-Elect, Maher will be responsible for assisting the Society President in administering the affairs of the Society and will be delegated responsibilities by the President and the Board. Maher’s term begins at the conclusion of the Annual Meeting in July 2009. Once completed, Maher will become the Society’s President.

Maher is just the latest in a long line of Dade Moeller & Associates employees to serve the Society. Others are William E. Kennedy (Richland, Wash.), Jerome B. Martin (Richland, Wash.), Dade Moeller & Associates President and CEO Matthew P. Moeller (Richland, Wash.), and his father, company founder Dade W. Moeller (New Bern, N.C.). The senior Moeller served as Society President from 1971–1972. In addition to these, other Dade Moeller & Associates employees have served as presidents, directors, officers, and committee chairs of Society chapters across the country.

Maher has more than 30 years of experience conducting and managing radiological, safety, and environmental protection programs applicable to commercial nuclear entities and Federal agencies such as the U.S. Departments of Energy and Defense. He is a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel with extensive experience in designing, developing, and implementing nuclear, biological, and chemical warfare defense strategies. He manages the Dade Moeller & Associates Boston-area office and is an adjunct faculty member at Harvard University.
