The internet being the cyber version of the Wild West that it is, I have found it necessary to impose some message board rules. I ask that you please read and respect them so that we can all continue to have a wonderful time here. 1. Keep all replies to a message on topic; ANY off topic messages will be deleted. (This includes witticisms, and smart remarks.) Feel free to create witty topics in the correct area. 2. Do not post a job posting or a resume in the message boards. That is what the job board software is for. 3. Please do not use racist slurs, or prejudiced comments. This includes religious beliefs, geographical location, and political beliefs. 4. Please learn to be respectful, tolerate and support each other. NukeWorker.com's goal is to help others, not see how many people we can annoy. Do not initiate arguments or tension. This will only cause the triggering of other members and make this site less professional. 5. Spamming is also off-limits. Spamming is either advertising for something (like a get rich quick scheme) or anything that looks like a chain mail. (i.e. Here's an angel to brighten your day, forward this to five people or your life will be hell). Almost all virus warnings, cookie recipes, and stories about children with cancer that you receive on the net are not true and qualify as spam. Don't post them here and please don't send them to other NukeWorkers. 6. Sexual innuendo and profanity. Keep the site PG-13, kids visit this site, the NRC visits this site, the Secret Service visits this site, Managers visit this site, I visit the site, good Christian people visit the site, etc. If it's questionable, don't do it. Let's just say that if you're going to post something that really needs the questionable language to achieve the desired humorous effect put it in the 'Bathroom Wall' in the donors only area, so those that choose not to go there will not be exposed to it. Got it? If you're in the middle of a thread and feel the need for an expletive, can we maybe star out some of the letters or something? 7. Peoples name's: It's a bad idea to use them, they lead to law suits. Some names are already censored because of this. Don't use names in stories or messages that could in any way be taken wrong. No libel or defamatory messages. 8. DON'T TYPE IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS, IT IS THE ELECTRONIC VERSION OF SHOUTING AT PEOPLE. 9. Do not repost news articles in their entirety on NukeWorker.com, as it is illegal to do so on a public system such as ours. Instead, we recommend that you summarize, quote, discuss and link to the original article. For more information about "Fair Use" and why posting a news article on our site isn't fair use, read this article:http://www.onenw.org/toolkit/fair-use/ 10. Do not argue with the forum staff in the open forum, those messages should be sent via PM (personnel message) to the person you are having trouble with, and the forum administrator, Nuclear NASCAR. Continued violation of these rules will get you deleted/banned. I have a one strike and you're out policy in regard to anything obscene or totally offensive. In most cases you will be warned (put on 'probation') and given a chance to play by the rules. Again, use a little common sense and you'll be just fine. |
