Title: Holiday right after bootcamp
Post by: rvincent on Sep 06, 2007, 03:21
I ship out october 9th for bootcamp, so if I'm correct i should be done with bootcamp by the time christmas comes around. My recruiter told me school is closed for the holiday, but right after bootcamp would i be shipped straight to SC? Also how long would the break be? Thanks

Due to your recently transfered status you may not be allowed to take leave. This decision will be up to the command. Don't make plans either way and get used to that in the Navy, nothing is ever definant. However if you do get stuck at NNPTC you will not do very much except maybe clean.

If they try to ship you out, call your next chain of  command and ask for DELREP--delay in reporting.  They can authorize this, I have done this myself leaving from San Diego to Great Mistakes.  I did 2 weeks DelRep.

One thing...ensure you recieve a message for proof of permission.  This was a wiregram.  Other methods may be authorized--mine was Western Union.  Now, with today's technology, who knows.  If you have no proof...you will be UA!
