Title: Moving through the ranks
Post by: NUKECOMER101 on Jan 26, 2009, 10:32
about how long does it take someone to move through the ranks starting as an O-1 to an O-6 if they moved up every time they went up for it?

O-1 to O-2   2 years
O-2 to O-3   2 years
O-3 to O-4   3-6 years
O-4 to O-5   4-6 years
O-5 to O-6   4-6+ years

These numbers can change due to some jobs/billets coming with a promotion attached to it.

that helps me put things in perspective, Thanks.

I have another question? Ok online it states the base pay salaries for each pay grade, what are all the other compensations, and how much additional can you expect each month for those?

Timeline is wrong....
01 to 02 is 2 yrs
02 to 03 is 2 yrs
03 to 04 is 5 to 6 yrs...You cannot be promoted to 04 before your 9 YCS point....it is law.  (NOTE:  Spot Promotion does not count)
04 to 05 is roughly 5 years after pinning on 04

Cheers,
GC
